PlatkyKutti ("we," "us") is a learning platform for children, used by a parent or guardian who creates an account and sets up one or more child profiles. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices a parent has — on the website and in the Android app.
Parent accounts: name, email address, and a hashed password (or a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google). This is the only account type that has an email address or password — a parent must be logged in to create, manage, or delete child profiles.
Child profiles:a first name, an avatar emoji, and an age group, all chosen by the parent. Child profiles do not have an email address, phone number, or password of their own, and cannot be created or accessed without a parent's account. Gameplay data (which stories were read, quiz scores, game completions, saved paintings) is tied to the child profile so a parent can see progress.
Voice recordings (optional):the "Say it back" pronunciation-practice feature briefly records a short audio clip to check pronunciation. That clip is processed to produce a score and is not stored permanently or used for any purpose beyond that single check — see "Pronunciation checking" below.
Usage information:while a profile is in use, the website and app record when a session starts and ends, roughly how long it was actively used, and which sections were opened (for example Stories or Math). This is linked to the account or child profile, never includes anything a child types, draws or says, and is sent only to our own server — we don't use third-party analytics or tracking tools.
Sign-in and security records: when someone signs in or a child profile is opened, we record the time, the sign-in method and the IP address. We also keep a security log of account and data changes (sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, profile and subscription changes, and admin actions), with the time, the account involved, the IP address and the device type.
To run the service: creating and authenticating accounts, saving progress, showing a parent their children's activity, processing a Premium subscription, and sending account-related email (like verifying an email address). Usage information is used to understand which parts of PlatkyKutti are used and how actively, so we can improve them (PlatkyKutti administrators can see it per account, for support and planning); sign-in and security records are used to protect accounts, investigate misuse and resolve support requests. We do not use children's information for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than operating and improving the app they're using.
Premium subscriptions are processed by Razorpay (on the website) or Google Play Billing (in the Android app). We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — those are handled entirely by Razorpay or Google. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and which plan was purchased.
Pronunciation checks are processed by a speech-recognition model that runs on our own server — audio is never sent to a third-party cloud speech API. The audio clip is used only to generate an immediate score/feedback and is not retained after that.
PlatkyKutti does not show ads and does not use interest-based or behavioral advertising of any kind, for children or adults.
PlatkyKutti is designed so that only a parent or guardian — never a child directly — creates an account, provides information, and manages payment. A child profile is created by the parent, contains no direct contact information (no email, no phone number), and cannot be used to contact the child or anyone else outside the app. A parent can review, edit, or delete a child's profile and all associated data at any time from the Parent Dashboard.
When creating an account, the parent confirms they are the child's parent or guardian and agrees to this policy. We record when that agreement was given and which version of this policy it applied to.
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers needed to run PlatkyKutti, and each only receives what it needs to perform its function:
Account and learning data is stored on our server in India. To protect against data loss, an encrypted copy of the database and uploaded images is made every night and stored with Backblaze in the United States. Daily backups are kept for 14 days and weekly backups for 4 weeks, after which they are deleted automatically.
A parent can delete a child profile at any time from the Parent Dashboard, which removes that child's saved progress and usage information. A parent can delete their whole account in the app or on the website (see Delete your account), which removes the account, every child profile, their activity, usage information and sign-in history. The security log is the one exception: its entries are kept, so that a record of what happened to an account (including its deletion) can't be altered or erased. It is accessible only to PlatkyKutti administrators.
Otherwise we keep account and learning data, usage information and sign-in history for as long as the account (or child profile) exists. After a deletion, the data can remain in our encrypted backups until they expire — at most 4 weeks — and is not used in the meantime.
Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text, and all traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify parents directly.
